Sorry that my first post here have to be negative in nature, but after a failed patcher attempt with my poor 90kbps connection yesterday, I decided to go to a relative's house for their internet. I presumed that if my net is now 1.8mbps instead of 90 kbps, I can download the patch within 1-2 hours right?
Nope, patcher stuck at 25% before even starting download. After a while, it did start, fluctuating all the way to ~92% where it stopped, 3 hours later. Turned the repair tool on, download rate fluctuated from max (1.8mbps) to ~100kbps. Mostly 100kbps. Then now at 88%, it is at 1 kbps or less. For the past half an hour.
I'm very confused, why are there no mirrors, or torrents, or backup, or something. Ignoring the failed patcher and all that, I don't see a reason why each method have to redownload the whole patch. I'm sure the previous FAILED patch is still cached somewhere. Why not pick up where it left off? Or break the patch into pieces?
I've seen some forum posts providing direct link to the patch, and some 3rd party mirrors. Trying whatever I can find now. Still, the direct link to CDN is downloading at bytes per second. not even kilobytes. Whatever I dont even know what to do at this point. Probably will ask a buddy to keep my training queue going. Think if we stop playing for a week, the patcher will fix itself? |

Yup I agree that the patch need to have a better system where if you fail at 80%, you dont have to start from the beginning again.

After failing 2-3 times on my sad 90 kbps home internet, I used my relative's internet (1.8mbps) and it still is failing. The only difference is that with a faster internet, I can try more often - haha. |
